The history of the Misfits can be split into two main eras: the first (1977-83) marks the original life of the band founded, fronted, and eventually dissolved by lead songwriter and vocalist Glenn Danzig. The second era (1995-present) has seen some former members of the band reunite to write and record new material with various new vocalists, while performing a mixture of old and new songs.
